This stunning chess master's board is made from laminated exotic & domestic hardwoods. The noble Staunton design chess pieces of solid hardwood are made of Acacia wood & Maple. We have switched from Rosewood to Acacia wood due to the ban on Rosewood. The board is made of Peruvian Walnut and Curly Maple with an African Sapele frame. The board is framed to allow for expansion of the solid wood interior. A tongue and groove joint is used to hold the frame together. The pieces are made of Acacia wood and Maple.

The chess box (sold separately) is made of African Sapele with a removable lid. The pieces pictured are Rosewood but the Acacia wood will be the set that is sent. The darker wood will look a little lighter in color in line with the frame of the chess board.
